Foundation Announces First Hire for The Children’s Discovery Center

Following a diligent, nation-wide search, Mosaic Life Care Foundation announces its first hire for their children’s discovery center. Katherine Patterson-Paronto will be the discovery center’s director and will begin employment March 1, 2024.

“We are pleased to have Katherine join our team. Her professional experience and commitment to young children and families will be a tremendous asset for the leadership of our discovery center,” says Julie Gaddie, PhD, president, Mosaic Life Care Foundation.

Katherine brings with her a wealth of knowledge and many years of experience in relation to children’s museums and programs including KidSight, Wonderscope and Science City. Katherine’s management expertise is in nonprofit leadership and strategic planning. In her sparetime, Katherine enjoys reading books, knitting and hiking with her family and two dogs.

“I am so thrilled to be a part of this important project,” says Katherine, director, Children’s Discovery Center. “I have always been a big believer in children’s discovery centers and their role in promoting the play and exploration that is so important in the development of young children.”

The Children’s Discovery Center exhibits and program offerings will create an atmosphere that inspires children and their families to play, learn, imagine and create. Activities will include field trips, daily programs, camps, family experiences and young adult experiences.

The Foundation is excited to have Katherine on board and eager for the discovery center to open later this year.
