careGIVER Campaign

As a Mosaic Life Care caregiver, you are invited to support Mosaic Life Care Foundation through its Healthy Today, Healthy Tomorrow and Healthy Together initiatives. Thanks to the generosity of careGIVERS like you, thousands of lives have been changed for the better, right here in our own community.

We ask for your support so that together, we may create a Healthy Today, a Healthy Tomorrow and be Healthy Together. As you are making your Annual Enrollment elections this year, you will also be given the opportunity to make your pledge during that time. Your pledge amount will begin on January 1, 2021. If you have additional questions, please contact Jerry Pickman, vice president of Philanthropy Operations or Laura Holthaus, philanthropy assistant, by calling (816) 271- 6792.

Three Areas of Giving

Healthy Today

Healthy Today
Mosaic is a life-care organization caring for patients in a healing environment. Healthy Today supports Compassionate Connected Care which ensures our patients and their families receive extra support to help make their stay comfortable and peaceful. Healthy Today also brings encouragement to our caregivers as they provide exceptional care for our patients.

Healthy Tomorrow

Healthy Tomorrow
By educating our children today, we create a Healthy Tomorrow. Through our sixth grade Civic Engagement Immersions and our high school e2 Fellowship, emPowerU programming ignites imagination and innovation to strengthen the next generation of our region’s leaders.

Healthy Together

Healthy Together
Through the Touchstone program, we are Healthy Together. This effort supports caregivers who are in a financial crisis due to an unexpected change, such as a spouse losing a job, a sick child or caregiver illness. Quite often, help is provided with utilizes, rent or mortgage. A Healthy Together contribution allows caregivers to help caregivers during some of life’s biggest events.

FAQs

Why are the giving options changing?

We want your gift to the careGIVER campaign to:

  • Be a simpler process.
  • Have the greatest impact in northwest Missouri.
  • Better meet the needs of our patients, communities and caregivers to help them live healthier, stronger lives and be able to weather the next storm – whatever that may be.

What happens to my existing pledge through payroll deduction?

Current pledges will continue through 12/31/2020.  During annual benefits enrollment, you will be asked to complete a new pledge form.  As of Jan. 1, 2021, your pledge request will be updated. This pledge will continue until you submit a change request to Shared Services.

How can donations be made to the careGIVER Campaign?

  1. Designate a dollar amount or percentage of pay to be deducted each pay period
  2. Donate PTO (eight-hour minimum)
  3. Make a one-time gift

Will my pledge be applied to wage increases and bonuses?

Yes.  Pledges by payroll deduction will be applied to wage increases and bonuses.

Can I give to more than one area?

Yes.

How do PTO donations work?

Your Paid Time Off (PTO) hours are deducted from your available PTO time and changed to a monetary donation. You must donate a minimum of eight hours, but can donate as much as you like, as long as you have an available balance. PTO donation is NOT available to associate directors, managers, senior leadership, providers, wage differential or PRN caregivers.

Can I still designate my gift to a specific program or fund?

The careGIVER Campaign is a system-wide appeal, so gifts are limited to the Healthy Today, Healthy Tomorrow and Healthy Together options. You are welcome to make a separate, designated gift to an existing Mosaic Life Care Foundation fund. If you choose to do so, visit mlcfoundation.com/donate or contact Jerry Pickman or Laura Holthaus in the Philanthropy department.

Can I make changes to my pledge?

Yes. You always have control over your donation amount and area(s) of giving. To make changes, please submit your request through Shared Services.
