Belle Epoque Test Kitchen Coming to King City

Belle Epoque Test Kitchen will open at Think Ahead Works® in King City, Missouri, on Jan. 9.

Belle Epoque and Friedrich’s Market in St. Joseph are partnering to provide a small restaurant and market items for sale utilizing the newly remodeled commercial kitchen at Think Ahead Works®. Belle Epoque Test Kitchen will be located at 107 W. Vermont St.

Nicole Radke, owner of Friedrich’s Market, said Think Ahead Works® is a unique opportunity and allows Belle Epoque Test Kitchen to make connections with the residents in King City and the neighboring communities.

“We want people to feel at home when they walk in,” Radke said. “It’s not just about what is on the menu or what we have to offer, it is that community aspect.”

The business will offer “take and bake” items in addition to breads and local produce items such as jams and eggs. Belle Epoque Test Kitchen will operate each Thursday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Think Ahead Works® offers programming that empowers youth to realize their voices are influential, education is valuable and they can make a difference in their communities. Think Ahead Works® also offers a business incubator for entrepreneurs in rural northwest Missouri communities. The business incubator is a catalyst for regional development by providing resources and services for individuals to either start or expand their business.

Think Ahead Works® recently added a commercial kitchen to support local food producers such as bakers and farmers to expand their business market.

The idea to provide a fully-equipped commercial kitchen in the Gentry County region began when Mosaic Life Care Foundation realized the opportunity to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs in the rural area who lacked the space and resources to conduct their business fully. Mosaic Life Care Foundation President, Julie Gaddie, Ph.D., said the Foundation is committed to growing healthy and thriving communities.

“Think Ahead Works is a unique opportunity to encourage and support regional economic prosperity through the infusion of growing businesses,” Gaddie said.
