Foundation to Pilot After-School Programming

Foundation to Pilot After-School Programming

Mosaic Life Care Foundation will pilot after-school programming at emPowerU this year.

The six-week program will be held Tuesdays, 4-5:30 p.m. starting Sept. 22 and running through Oct. 27. Space is limited. The Foundation will follow appropriate guidelines with participants and staff including taking temperatures, requiring face masks, social distancing and providing hand sanitizing stations.

Devran Brower, director of program operations, said he is excited to offer the after-school programming.

“Our objective is to grow participants’ knowledge in areas that may not be covered in their typical school curriculum,” Brower said. “It is an opportunity to enrich their knowledge in STEAM topics.”

The programs are designed for students entering grades 3-8 to create and develop an interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Program offerings include: Coding Drones, LEGO EV3 Robotics, LEGO Powered Machines, LEGO WeDo 2.0 Robotics, TYNKER Coding and Virtual Reality Explorers.

All sessions feature hands-on activities led by trained facilitators. The cost is $50 per child for the six-week program. To register, visit https://www.mlcfoundation.com/after-school-programming/.
