Heartland Foundation Announces 2018 Scholarship Recipients
Since 1984, Heartland Foundation has managed and awarded numerous healthcare-related and general educational scholarships. In line with their mission to champion education and empower people, the Heartland Foundation Board of Trustees honored this year’s scholarship recipients at their August 29, 2018 meeting.
- Dana Anderson: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship, Doris R. Hines Ph.D., R.N., CETN Nursing Scholarship, and Dr. William & Mrs. Muriel Redmond Scholarship
- Savannah Bennett: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship
- Eleana Emmons: Velma Flies Anderson Nursing Scholarship
- Christa Hughes: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship
- Nacaela James: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship and Mosaic Life Care Hospice Scholarship
- Ashton Knorr: Doris R. Hines Ph.D., R.N., CETN Nursing Scholarship
- Gracie Moore: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship, Mary Alice Hartigan, and Mary Ann Reinert
- Lamesa Pochron: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship
- Taylor Roberts: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship
- Angela Voga: Bill & Mary Russell 40 & 8 Healthcare Scholarship, Doris R. Hines Ph.D., R.N., CETN Nursing Scholarship, and Dr. William and Mrs. Muriel Redmond Scholarship
Additionally, through the through the (e2) education emPowers® initiative, sponsored by Heartland Foundation in partnership with northwest Missouri colleges, universities, and technical schools, a number of e2 Scholarships are awarded to regional scholars. These scholarships are offered to support and bring awareness to the mission of (e2) education empowers®: “To build collaborative, innovative strategies to advance educational attainment and lifelong learning.”
The 2018 e2 Scholarship recipients are:

- Kelsey Adkins, Antigone Easton, Kaitlynn Ellis, Briana Gilmore, Natasha Liechti, Devon Morris, Hillyard Technical Center
- Blythe LaFaver, North Central Missouri College
- Elias Manners, Northwest Missouri State University
- Tyler McKinstry, Grand River Technical School
This fiscal year (2018-19), 164 total scholarships were awarded, amounting to $183,073. Through the generosity and support of individuals and regional institutions, since 1984 Heartland Foundation has managed and allocated 2,436 scholarships totaling $2,009,926.
