emPowerU STEAM Camp Registration Open
Kids can spend part of their summer at Mosaic Life Care Foundation’s summer STEAM Camps engaging in fun, hands-on activities.
Mosaic Life Care Foundation hosts STEAM Camps at emPowerU in St. Joseph and Think Ahead Works® in King City, Missouri, July 12-30. The summer camps are designed for students entering grades 3-8 to create and develop an interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
Devran Brower, director of program operations, said each camp introduces a child to new creations and the hands-on activities can spark a passion within.
“If your child loves video games, they will love TYNKER Coding where they create and code their own video game,” Brower said. “Our STEAM Camps are challenging, but it is such a rewarding experience when you see the kids learning and excited about education.”
The Foundation will follow appropriate guidelines with campers and staff including taking temperatures, wearing face masks, social distancing and providing hand sanitizing stations.
Six exciting camps are offered, including new segments of TYNKER Coding such as game design, animation and creative coding. 2021 STEAM Camp offerings include: Coding Drones, LEGO EV3 Robotics, LEGO Powered Machines, LEGO WeDo 2.0 Robotics, TYNKER Coding and Virtual Reality Explorers.
All sessions feature hands-on activities led by trained facilitators. Participants will build machines, vehicles, tools, contraptions and robots. They will also learn how to program their robots to perform a variety of maneuvers.
Mosaic Life Care Foundation is also hosting Camp Invention this summer at emPowerU June 28-July 2. Camp Invention is a week-long summer adventure with lessons that explore connections between science, technology, engineering and innovation.
